At the Shenzhen club competition held from July 16–18, 2026, spectators had the chance to see several skaters who may well appear on the scene during the 2030 French Alps cycle and the 2034 Salt Lake City cycle down the road.
Wang Yihan (王一涵)
Widely adored by Chinese skating fans and affectionately nicknamed "Liuliu" (六六), Wang Yihan is the first female skater from China to win a Junior Grand Prix title. She brought two brand-new programs and landed a 3F+3T, along with a 3Lz+2A+2A. Her new programs were warmly received both by the audience in the arena and by Chinese fans online. Her short program is set to Alcione: Tempête and Le Concert des Nations (Click Clack Symphony), choreographed by Stéphane Lambiel, while her free skate uses the Sugar Plum Fairy Pas de Deux from The Nutcracker, choreographed by Satoko Miyahara (宮原 知子).
Ariel Guo (郭幸仪)
The top ladies' singles skater for Hong Kong, China, affectionately known as the "Hong Kong Cat" (港猫), is another crowd favorite. She competed in both the seniors and juniors this time, taking gold in juniors and silver in seniors. Her costumes weren't finished yet, so she skated both programs in practice wear—and delivered clean skates in both. At this competition she completed a 3Lz+3T and a 3Lz+2A+2T.
Wang Jingqiu (王靖秋)
Widely loved by Chinese fans and nicknamed "Qiuqiu" (球球), she skated a Pirates of the Caribbean free program. Her sense of performance is excellent and her technique is solid. Beyond the jumps, her beautiful cantilever is reminiscent of the iconic skater Amber Glenn from the US.
Liu Jiayou (刘珈佑)
He has been landing the triple Axel since the practice sessions here and in the competition, just as he did at the earlier Harbin stop of the Interclub League. Although he attempted three jump combinations instead of two, it was enough for the podium, and maybe making a few of the other men a little envious.
Bu Yubo (卜禹博)
His jump repertoire includes the 4S—he has even completed a 4S+3T combination. He is a skater with sights set on the 2030 cycle. He's the champion in the upper novice group.
Zou Wenyou (邹汶佑)
She finished third in the seniors. Training under Sergey Davydov, she is capable of the 3F+3T and 3Lz+3T. Her performance style balances stillness and movement, with an aggressive edge.
Note: Liu Yuxuan (刘玉萱), due to a scheduling conflict, withdrew from the club competition to take part in the Guangdong Provincial Games instead. She trains in Russia under Eteri Tutberidze's group and has the 4S in her arsenal.
After the competition, legendary Chinese ladies' skater Chen Lu (陈露)—World Champion and Olympic bronze medalist—who served as commentator for this event, poses for a photo with Wang Yihan (王一涵) and Wang Jingqiu (王靖秋).
