May 3-5, 2026 | Nantong, Jiangsu Province
The Second Senyue Rhythmic Gymnastics Festival concluded successfully during this year's May Day holiday, drawing over 300 participants from across China to Nantong, Jiangsu Province.
Hosted by the Nantong Sports Bureau, the festival—named after Chinese rhythmic gymnastics legend Deng Senyue—took place from May 3 to 5. Despite being only in its second year, the event has rapidly grown in scale, attracting teams from Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Chongqing, Xiamen, Liuzhou, and numerous other provinces and municipalities nationwide. The total number of participants expanded several-fold compared to the inaugural edition.
The competition was organized by age group, featuring categories ranging from kindergarten children to high school students. Each division delivered spectacular performances. Notably, young gymnasts coached by Deng Senyue herself delivered impressive results. The participant pool included seasoned competitors with experience at national championships and national youth championships, alongside first-time competitors taking their initial steps onto the competitive stage.
The Senyue Rhythmic Gymnastics Festival represents a significant boost to grassroots rhythmic gymnastics development in China. Deng Senyue, who achieved China's best-ever individual result at the World Championships during her competitive career, continues to make substantial contributions to the sport following her retirement. Through her active involvement in coaching and her considerable influence, she continues to inspire young girls to pursue rhythmic gymnastics and grace the beautiful arena of this elegant sport.
